$1000 fine and 2 year ban hardly seems enough to me.

so he's on welfare and fishes everyday and gets a lower fine because the judge feels sympathy for him. way to make an example.

Based on what was seen and recorded, the penalty for this killing simply was minimal. The first impression of any person is usually the most accurate. He went into a rage about the fish and beat it to death. His rage was very specific and clear as seen on the tape. He showed his true colors. His most recent video apologizing was a total joke.

The courts had an opportunity to set an example and they fell short.

As I wrote previously, the fellows who video taped this incident should receive a healthy reward.......

His explanation total bull*hit, and for the reason why he did what he did, because he's a total goof.

Lots of worst things in life with fines a lot less. We fishermen know that losing our fishing privileges for 2 years can really suck! You cannot throw the book at someone for first time offence. It will depend on his record. If this was the first unlawful act he committed in his life.... than it is reasonable. I know everyone would like to see him beat like the fish and toss into the water... But at the end of the day he made a mistake and was not fully educated on what his actions were. But what he did probably open the eyes of many others and might help prevent others from following his mistake. He should of defended himself and said "I thought it was a goby" LOL.

Not nearly enough for this POS, the first video he appeared in shows who this guy really is, not this staged video full of BS. What an a-hole

Thanks for posting this update Loony so we now all know what this guy looks like in case we ever see him on the water.

I rarely comment on fines/courts etc. but at least he got tagged.

Now being issued a fine is one thing....actually paying it another

So you guys think people should be persecuted because they are a d-bag?

Come on man. He killed 1 fish. That is what he was charged with.

I'm as passionate as the rest of you, but he was charged with killing 1 fish.

Must be nice to be able to afford a boat being on welfare... but yet they reduce the fine? I work 40+hrs a week and cant afford a boat. What a joke..unless it wasnt his boat?
