I have been checking out u-tube with the intent to make up some rigs for perch fishing. I have been experimenting with some success but just curious as to the limit on the number of hooks allowed. I thought there was a maximum but couldn't find it anywhere.

Can anybody tell how many hooks are you allowed on a single line for ice fishing?

Do treble hooks get the same count as a single hook?

Thanks for your help.

Joe

I believe its 3 hooks. A jigging rap counts as 2 hooks.

4 hooks per line.
Either single, double or treble hooks all count as one hook each.
From pg.8 of the current Recreational Fishing Regulations Summary.

The maximum number of hooks per line does not change for ice fishing compared to open water fishing.
As always check the Exceptions for the specific body of water your fishing.

Page 8 fishing regulations

Hook – A hook includes a single-pointed or multiple-pointed hook on a common shaft but does not include a snagger or spring gaff. The number of hooks includes any single-pointed or multiple-pointed hooks that are part of a lure.

Hooks and Lines – An angler may use only one line, unless otherwise stated in the regulations. Two lines may be used when angling from a boat in parts of the Great Lakes (see exceptions to the general regulations) and for ice fishing in many areas (see Ice Fishing, page 11). A fishing line must not have more than four hooks attached.

Tight lines

Think you mean 3 ...

Also read somewhere if you tip each treble , each tipped hook counts as one is that true?? Jigging rap could be 5 hooks?

Not true.
A throw back from years past when hook points were counted as hooks when using bait.
Been changed for more than a few years now.
