Im Back! Slammin Slab Crappie!, A banner day for crappies!

World Record Trout Group: Members Posts: 4676 Member No.: 1601 Joined: February 29, 2012	Well my friends its been awhile since I fished the local honey hole close to home just outside Orillia. I decided I would head out early and give my crappie fishing technique a go before the snow decided to pile up on us. Arrived at the lake around 7am drilled one hole with my newly sharpened srikemaster auger, set up my shelter and began to target my favorite meal, the Black crappie. Tubes and slipfloat fished in 22 fow was the answer today as I pounded one slab after another for five hours of fishing. Also included were several perch of decent size and a little pike. They were released except one perch for my two cats toshare. Be damned if they're getting my crappie fillets! Lol Boy I almost forgot what it was like catching these slabs, as I've been targeting lakers the last few weeks. Gonna have to do this more often!! Twenty crappies in total , two lost at the hole and unfortunately chased by the damn snow!! Great day on the ice, time to dig in Mmmm! Pics tofollow .

Could definitely use a weekday off to get out. I need you to guide me on the crappies some time as it's one species I haven't had much luck with. And looking forward to laker fishing with you once again! I will let you know when I have a day and maybe we can get out again, get up to Jo. Keep up the good work. FF.
