My auger issues, ….update/suggestions

Hi guys!

So….Had it in the house all day and then it starts 2nd pull. While screwing around with it outside I noticed idle was a bit low….adjusted that. Here is the kicker…..choke not working….when running, slide it up, down…full choke etc and nothing. I seem to think here is my problem when its cold. Warm, starts no prob, cold, no start cause the choke isn't working. I will tear it down after the season and try to fix it. I may keep in the truck on the way to fishing for the next week, keep it warm, start before the sled ride or just start it and carry it on my sled running…..lol.

Does the choke thing make sense? I mean warm, starts, cold no start even though " I thought" the choke was open but not!

I had the same problem with one I had it hated the cooled weather. I bought a propane one and all my problems went away.

We bought a new choke assembly because the old one seemed to be wearing out after only 3 years of use. Parts are all plastic so were wearing out. Yours may have snapped so that is why it wasn't working.

I think it was only about $20. Choke is right under filter so easy to get at and see how it works. Not sure why it would start when warm unless more fumes to help ignite??
