I've been chasing whites and lakers all winter. I usually stick with pink or white jig heads and swammers. If I am using a pink or white jig head should I use the same colour Swammer on that jig or is it ok to mix colours.
Thanks for the help, love this site for the knowledge I have acquired, that I wouldn't have had.

I experiment with colour combinations more throughout the soft water months. During the winter I tend to stick with black and unpainted jigs. Something to try is a jig with a small underslung flasher blade. Any little bit of extra - albeit subtle - flash helps. I use them for soft water walleyes and they've doubled my catch rates. I also typically use the Owner Saltwater Darter jig head for swim baits through the ice. I have never found them in any finish but unpainted. They're available in weights from 1/2 Oz and up. As for your question about colour combos, keep experimenting until you get something you're confident using. You never know, you might find the next hot combo for Simcoe.
