Sucks that you broke your truck good that you got out but also further cements why I leave my truck on shore
Not sure if fair statement relevant to the ice. Not sure the age or kms on the vehicle but u joints go.
He could've been on land driving back county roads in 4 x4 and would have still broke u joint with about same usage - and if stopped on icy road or shoulder would also have been stuck requiring a bump . . .
trick is to go out 'anywhere' with a vehicle that won't breakdown - that can be a challenge at times.
If have a good 4 x4 you want to use it as a 4 x4? Not leave it in the mall parking lot . . . ?
Good for tincanmattt to get out on the ice with his truck! Too bad about the component failure.

I had just replaced my rear u joints yesterday and checked my fronts and they seemed fine. Completely blew apart today without warning. Should have just changed them yesterday because they've been on for a long time. Been using 4wd alot lately. Not surprised it went. My front tired are to heavy to be pushed solely by the rear wheels lol my sled, sleigh and atv are parked at my North bay house so to get out where I want driving the truck is my only way other then walking with all my gear

Glad everything worked out! Silly question did you catch anything?
About 2 hours of sitting in my truck I decided to drill a hole. Marked a fish as soon as I dropped the transducer in, dropped my line 10 ft above him (50ft) he chased for 30ft and smashed er. 9-10 lbs laker
