Today I headed out from Minet's Point around 6:45am, walked out in the dark and set up in 65 fow. After 20mins my finder starts lighting up some followers. An hour of chases and sniffs, nothing. After I notice a pattern of mutliple chasers up and down past my lures I realized it must be herring.

I changed from a spoon to a swim bait to minnows, nothing. Finally after 30 more mins of mucking around and my finder taunting me I throw down a jigging rap. Three large jigs and bam. I landed this guy. Tried for another hour or so before heading home. Plenty of chances.

Weather was awesome. I was in a t-shirt in my pop up

Funny enough I couldn't guess if I tried for the weight so I won't. It came up like a log for the first 10ft before bending the rod. I thought I had popped my whitey cherry. Not to be. I kept it as I'm going to pickle it for some European friends. Great day out.
