So it seemed to be a nice day, started off marking fish regularly in 104ft... they came off the bottom 2 ft and down and gone, had 1 come up and follow up to 70ft gone again... Walked back in to 88ft...started to mark a few, no action on the spreader and no hits on the Vrabato... Realizing there was more fish deeper I went back to my original spot lol..just wanted to pop the cherry today! After 2 chasers I swapped out a bad boyz tipped with small minnow...fish on the bottom...nothing! I guess they know I'm sitting above calling them names after they leave, ya they know how to P@#$ me off lol.. I will try 1 more time for these guys then its time for crappie and perch till the ice is gone.
I feel a sickness coming on very soon I might miss another day at work

I sure don't have the answers, but I'll try to get your thoughts moving.
Is it worth dropping to a lighter line just to trigger a bite? Me, always. I don't care about losing a fish. I look for that extra edge.
Yes, you may lose fish, but play a looser drag possibly? Playing around the ice edges can be challenging. Once they bite you have the option to change to a heavier line. Finesse................
You want your presentation different. Picture fish under the ice and through just about every hole they see the same things, same actions. What can you do to get that 1-3-5% edge and start to hook up??? Don't let the fish train you....
That box............. step out of it and get creative. Don't fall into what has been the norm for you as all of us do in most cases. Start catching!!
