We are visiting my sister in Fenelon Falls on the weekend and are still deciding were to fish on the Saturday. I'd like to try lakers/whities on Gull or Crystal but haven't heard how the fishing has been at either location recently. I may also just try Sturgeon and try to find the elusive crappie.
On Sunday we will be heading back towards home and do some fishing so was thinking of hitting VB or at least the east/south side. We can't be there too early as I don't want to leave my sister's before they even get up and will have breakfast with them. Is anyone else planing on going out that way? I'm thinking the warmer weather will be bringing the jumbos back in shallow but haven't seen many reports on the area in a while. Hopefully there will be some this week.

I would stay away from sturgeon likely be a waste of time but who knows.. I haven't seen or heard of anyone being able to locate the crappies on the hard water... But come spring there's all kinds.

Thanks for the replies. I will most likely hit Simcoe since we haven't fished it yet this season and I have also heard crappies are hard to find on Sturgeon. I know it's a few days away but do you think the ice road will still be open on Sunday? Even if it is not, would we be able to still park on the ice?
