Never been out on the ice there yet but tomorrow morning is my day .
Walking out of cootes and walking around the point.
I'm going to set up along side the point starting in about 25ft
If nothing I will try shallower...I will post the results and some pictures hopefully!!!!!!

Hit the ice this morning at about 9:00 am after purchasing new auger 8" fin bore. I started walking to the spot where I always mark fish in the boat and wouldn't you know it something starting hitting right of the bat, something small playing with it and I cant get him.I'm using a small jig and 3"shiner and its to big .I went to a even smaller jig and different pieces of miinnow .Finally figured it out all they where liking was just the head .
I marked big fish all day and small fish as well but could not entice a strike from a big one however had some chasers but just wouldn't bite.
I ended up catching 13 perch and lost a bunch at the hole with the biggest just under 11" .
A few where 9" and 10" the rest 7" to 8" .it was nice day out to be out there and i did see others on the bay as well.

Nicely done, I've been out to Bayfront park twice with no bites.
Went to 50 point marina to try for browns as well with no bites.

I need to go back to Simcoe to build confidence lol

Alarm went off a five am this morning so to Tims then to lake.My buddy didn't want to go early but I had no choice I was going to the home show later in the afternoon.
The bay is holding up well with the warm temps and looks like it will hold up for another week...
I only drilled 3 holes for the day because the perch bite was on . I ended up with 21 perch and lost a least five at the hole.I did however hook something bigger than a perch ,it was on for about 20 second's then it was gone....lol.
Wow the fish finder was reading fish none stop today.
The biggest perch was 13" and lots 8" to 12" also a couple of dink's.
I was surprised how I did today and right in my own backyard...cheers fishmagnet !!!no pictures I left my phone in the van last night and the battery was dead this morning...

Go to the bottom of the hill on spring gardens rd there is some parking there. Access to the water right beside the parking area, its a good little walk to that point and the ice was holding up good with just some slush in some areas but not to bad but should still be good... Fish the south side of the point ,you should see the area we where fishing......good luck and I will look for your report.
There is a snowmobile track out to the point so just stay on it and you should be OK....

We're on the outside closer to the big lake... Isn't it only like 6 feet deep on the North side of the point
