After my success with Gull on Sunday, I went to the cottage on Kashagawigamog.
Monday and Tuesday fished the upper area of the lake - deep and shallow and in between. Run and gun - no hut set up. Maybe marked some very small fish in a couple of the numerous holes drilled . . .
Took Wednesday off from fishing - looking at hunting properties. Back at the fishing tomorrow afternoon when warms up from the -17C expected tonight.
For the next couple of days I'll be doing the serious fishing with my brother. Warm afternoons will include our youngsters 5 and 6 year olds - we will target perch off from the Bonnie view . . .
If anyone interested meeting up - let me know.
Sunday - I may go back to Gull on the way home . . .

Completed 2 more days of fishing. Lots of holes. We went through a full gas tank on the auger!
Only 1 spot marked fish and that's where 1 lake trout caught - released at 8". My first ever laker on this lake - 3 years trying for them. Few people out fishing - those that we spoke with said was slow for them on the lake . . .
With lousy weather predicted for Saturday I've packed it in for Kashagawigamog for this hard water season. Will look at getting onto Gull Sunday.

For lakers try a little shallower then elsewhere on this lake .......like 25 ft.good starting point . Definitely more lakers in south end than North .....good luck ....

The 1 laker I caught was 24' - on some structure in the south end of Lake.
Why would southern section be better than northern section for lakers? Both have deep holes? Yes southern is bigger / deeper.
Anyhow - the one caught was a southern . . .
It may take me a couple more years or more - will figure this lake trout fishing out!

The south end of the lake has a lot more deep water ..... Yes the North end has a deep area but no where near the size of the lake in the south end ....... They did put in about 1200 lakers about 2 yrs ago and they stocked them right at harpers marine . I really don't know how many lakers would travel though the shallow narrows in the winter .......maybe I am wrong just catch a lot more lakers down there ...... That being said we have caught some in the north end while walleye fishing just not the numbers .......cheers
