The family and I are renting a few cottages this summer as we are trying to find a 3 season vacation spot weather it be a trailer or a cottage on a lake and it seems like the most likely destination because of driving distance is going to be either lake simcoe of the Kawarthas. We have a cottages booked on Pigeon Lake for the Victoria Day long weekend on Pigeon and also Rice lake for the opening for Bass. we are looking for a nice area for a family with good fishing. any other suggestions on what lakes we should visit in the area??

Thanks Steven

I was going to recommend rice lake sounds like you've already got it planned, the fishing can be amazing especially for bass and lots of walleye too if you want any specific spots pm me

A small lake, is Lovesick Lake. Tucked between Buckhorn, and Stoney Lake. It's main attraction is simplicity. It is a couple miles long, and about a mile wide. So the beauty of it is simple, if you're not catching fish on a certain structure, or cover, it takes minutes to move. It offers all types of fishing. Deep, shallow, weeds, sand, rip rap, you name it, and species. Just about everything that swims. No Lake Trout, but there are Whitefish. Perch, Crappie, all the panfish. Walleye, Musky, Bass. Everything you can imagine. Contact Ron Waldren at Forrest Hill Lodge. I guided from there for years, back in the day. Where ever you land, have a good trip.

Thanks Toner unfortunately the wife doesn't want anything more that a 3 hour drive and Jack's Cottages would be like 4 hours plus toronto traffic from us. but I do appreciate it and it does look like a nice place.
