Thanks to those that provide this great board and the mods that keep it in order. Thank you to all those that gave ice reports at first ice and still are. Thanks for all the tips and recommendations from all the members. And a big thanks to all the northern lake boys for their reports, stories and fun they provided this season. A big shout out to Dale aka Dbfish. It's great to have fished with you and made a new friend. Today was probably my last time out unless the weather and work cooperate. We had a great day on Jo, a cold slow start but things picked up and we finished strong. Got some good eaters yet again.

I've been out 21 times this season and have had my best season yet. I caught my first crappie through the ice, had my highest number of lakers in a day and my pb jumbo perch this year. I also caught and ate my first ling and look forward to targeting them next season. If I have one regret it was no whities in the 2 times I went for them and no herring this season. But there is always next year! I also got the chance to target some new water the year and that was great.

I have a feeling I may sneak in another trip but if this was the last hurrah, it was a great run. Once again, thank you everyone and enjoy the final weeks and stay safe

Dave.

Good post - I too find this board very helpful - has given me good suggestions on equipment / setup etc. Some of the reports are truly inspirational - others epic! I trust that my participation is also helpful to others . . .

For me this year out on the ice about 16 times and this year's firsts include - first mud puppy, ling, and first lake trout on Kashagawigamog!!! Like you - still need to get a white fish and herring . . .

Next year will also target ling more. Noting that this year is not yet over - could get a ling this weekend . . .

This is 'the' time of year to start targeting ling...the next 2-3 weeks will do it for you - go out just before dark. Be prepared to stay till midnight.
