Well my friends I got up very early on Tuesday morning and began to prepare for the one hour gorgeous ride to my favorite muskoka lake. Sometimes things dont always work out the way we want them too. The weather, fantastic, solunar charts, very good what a great day ahead it looked to be.
Had my morning cups of coffee did natures duties and began to organize the van for the short trip ahead.
All of a sudden I begin to get unsual stomach cramps. The pain escalates to the point now I cancel my journey to muskoka. I battle these pains all day and night and then finally a little worry sets in and i cab it over to the hospital. A doctor's physical, bloodwork and a catscan afterwards its official Acute appendicitis. Oh shoot have the fish gods got even!!
Succesful surgery done as of 8 last night. So I sit here now in my pain and discomfort planning my next attack on the fish gods. May 1 pike opener! Seems like the likely start. Look out fish gods pay backs a b####!!

Well, that was a disappointment but at least you're recovering! Only 36 days to go until your next attack.

got mine a few years ago. You'll be up and fishing in a few weeks. Getting in and out of bed hurts because of your stomach muscles but you'll be good for softwater season. Get better soon.

Hey DB

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

You hung onto yours for a long time. I had mine out as a teenager--that's a long time ago.

Hope your feeling better soon Dale.

At least you weren't on the ice and had it burst.

From all the successful trips you've had lately, I'm sure you've got lots of fish in the freezer to keep you going until May

All the best for a quick recovery Dale.

I hope you asked the doctor to save your appendix for you. I hear they make great bait.
