Hey folks I'm looking for some new crown land lakes for fishing and camping don't mind having to put in a bit of effort. We mostly fish walleye, bass, and panfish. I know most don't like to give away there spots but I have no problems "trading" locations.

Hey I have also been searching thru crown land for places to fish and camp, but I am basing if off atleast 1 day canoeing to get into the land. Most of the spots I have found are on the east coast of Georgian Bay and theres tons of info out there. If you could be a little more specific about where and how you plan on accessing (drive, boat, canoe with portages) maybe I have come across something to aid you in your search. Kam

Hey location wise that works good , as far as how we would access ,drive, canoe, 2hp motor. so since we don't have to paddle we don't mind doing some grunt work to get in that being said we don't want to be doing km long portages either...

I would maybe look around moon river massasauga pp area if i wanted a shorter drive, otherwise probably the point au baril area or french river. I dont know what sites your looking for info on but myccr.com has tons of routes and descriptions. I am going to head out and try a few places along the gb coast this coming year so hopefully ill be able to report back with more for you later.

cheers for the replies.. i know of the Massasauga had many trips there before it became a park, biggest problem i have with that park is that no motors are allowed and quite frankly fishing with no motor is a pain. QEWII is a great park as well did a few trips last summer for the first time fishing is decent and gets better the further in you go...

Motors are allowed. Certain specified back lakes are not allowed gas powered engines but that's it as far as I know. The fishing there is amazing and there are plenty of private sites that you don't need to portage to. If you're heading in from Pete's place and you really want to portage then you have options there as well.

What lakes did you get into at QEII?
Seeing that you like motor - how do you not portage?
or can you get through lakes without portage?
Any reports you could share on your fishing in QEII? What fish caught? Could be timely now . . .

Head lake (the QEI I access point ) is supposed to have walleye musky bass, Fishog has musky bass and the rest just bass other than the few stocked lakes. There are fly in fishing camps on Red Boat and Crooked lakes as well as victoria/wolf lakes I believe, all for bass. Thenewflyfisher tv show does an episode at the crooked lake camp the fishing appeared to be allright. Thanks for the input on massassauga pp as well I am 90% sure that's where I'll be headed second after Rice lake once pike and walleye open.
