Hi Everyone,

Needless to say i cant wait for some open water to fish!!

I am heading up to pigeon lake from may 14th to the 17th is there anything to catch that weekend besides panfish? Walleye opens on that Saturday correct? I am heading up there with family and i have a bet going with my Brother-in-law on who will catch more fish so any tips would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Steven

Walleye opens on May 9th. Should be some decent fishing for you. Crappie fishing is year round, and should be easiest to catch that time of year. Make sure you have a good understanding of the slot size and limits for walleye if you plan on keeping any.

A jig and minnow should be great for walleye and crappie, as for the slot size on walleye they have to be between 35 and 50 centimetres to keep

A jig, and minnow is always good for Walleye. I've never really noticed before, but what do you do if you catch a trophy? There is no exception for 1 over the slot to keep a wall mount?

Photo and measure for a replica. Only choice available for a kawartha trophy.

I think Replica is better anyways it helps keep the fish population up.

I think a walleye of that size has more value in the lake then on your wall anyways.
