With Walleye season just over a month away, I'm as excited as the next guy, but I always seem to have problems locating the walleye anywhere except the Lindsay and Fenelon Locks, which isn't very exciting at all (though I do get results). I would assume that on sturgeon lake that I should work the weed lines with cranks, minnows, and jigs. but what about in the river? The river is easier access for me but every time I try I just get frustrated and look for crappie to catch. Weed edges, again, seem like a good spot but there is a lot of boat traffic. What do you guys do? Not looking for your best honey hole or secret lure, just some general tips on catching walleye in the sturgeon river or sturgeon lake.

Went down to the lindsay dam today to see if the walleye are up spawning yet.. To my surprise the dame is closed but make sense with this years unusual thew. There is no moving water at all not sure how this will reflect on their spawn this year likly not good. By now their should be fast water and walleye up. As for tips find the weeds you will find the walleye don't be affaid of fishing weeds in 3 fow. And rip some hair
