Just lost another! What is amazing at times is how the Ling pull themselves out of the hole by their tail!!!!

Keep at it !! I'll see you there tomorrow night, you can sleep while I take over that lucky hole. LOL Are you using glow spoons at all or just a minnow tipped spoon or hook/minnow combo ? I think they are there cuz they found my chum buffet from the other night !!

I've got to leave in morning so can get home and complete chores before wife gets home. Plus - 36 hours on ice is enough. hole tonight and last night was same as last week! It's the depth! If you go out tomorrow will see my holes easy.

Nice way to end the season, I hope I have the energy to go as this is my 4th 12 hr night in a row. You're really making it hard not to go. That convenience store in Norland had no minnows when I went, shipment next morning he said.Did he have lots? Big 3 or 4 inches? Hope you get 50 more !!!!!

One more caught at 3.00 am. seems quiet now - anticipating the seagulls back any moment . .

Warming up the Argo. Just have to reel in the rod and I'm gone for 2015.
A bit cool no wind yet . . .
The water is the melt from the buddy heater. Next year I've to set up different - likely a reflector.
Will follow up later from home with the 8 ling.
thanks

Off ice. Packed up ready to go. Less than an hour.
Not too happy with my road set up - especially when wet / salt on road. Need suggestions to transport better.
today I left the tarp off the Argo as starting to fail . . .
Thanks

Good going !! Looking forward to final report/reports. Think I'm gonna call Swannie see if he wants last rites as well. How was the ice coming off? 4 wheeler still possible or should I just walk out if I go. I may call you later

Getting an enclosed trailer would be the solution but they can be pretty expensive.

Biggest fish at 28".
Smallest at 16".
The first two caught Saturday night I left on the ice freeze. The shin dried out a bit. Perhaps should have put into plastic bag first?
The six caught Sunday - last night - I bled them on the ice after catching. They didn't freeze.

I cleaned smallest fish first. Then thought through the steps and the mess. I decided to skin the remaining 7 fish first then clean up the slime - keeping things cleaner. Then fillet. If people don't know - ling is VERY slimy - and can stain things black . . .
This photo showing small fillets - five skinned and the largest two about to be skinned.

Dug a new hole in garden where thawed. Made it down 3' and dumped the fish carcasses. Covered with some dirt and have room left for some trout soon . . .
Similar as a couple others have posted - I plant all fish waste when cleaning at home. Saves going smelly in the garbage and is good for the gardens. Takes about 2 years to break down.
