I can't help but notice how low the water level is on the lake this year. The canels are almost dry. I can't imagine this to be good for the fish or waterfowl. Does anyone know why they are doing this or if it will be raised soon?

I don't know !! I live on the pigeon river just outside omemee. It's very low. Bays are basically dry. It's coming up slowly, but we've had very little run off this spring so far. Really no rain to help the thaw. The snow kinda just slowly disappeared.

I just drove over to my brothers. He's on chemong. I pass over a culvert that flows into a back bay off chemong. It's usauly rushing water thru there this time of year, right now it a fast trickle.

Looks like there might be 30-40mm of rain this week. Not sure if that is enough but it might help. I think they were expecting a lot of melt this year but the ground must have sucked it all up. I guess low water levels might be better than flooded basements but not so good for the fish.

Much of the Trent system is near or at historical low water levels. Hopefully there's a lot of melt to come from the highlands. If not, we need rain and lots of it.

If only there was a thick layer of some sort of substance that would melt and turn to water in the warm weather.

35mm of rain expected this week should help

The rain will definitely help but it's going to take a lot more than 35mm of rain to even get the water level close to what it used to be. Beers that is almost exactly what Scugog is looking like.

The system is a mess. This time last year my entire property was underwater and my house was sandbagged.

This year, I can see the bottom 100 feet out from my shoreline.

For a waterway that is totally controllable within inches, barring any catastrophies, this is bullshit.

Maybe lesbian politicians should stay the hell out of things they know nothing about!

Tell us how you really feel. lol

Actually they set the levels in the fall in anticipation of the snow we got last year and we got the opposite. And this no rain melt has made it worse.

I can't see getting my boat off my bunk at this water level.
