Nice care to pm the baits or presentation? Suspended under a float? Fished on bottom? I want to try and knock crappies off my list of fish to catch and always seem to miss them in the canal. This year it'll be different, seems like the list starts to consist of smaller sized fish each year. Anyone catching carp up there? That's another one for me still...

Sabotfish I haven't personally gone for carp in the canal, but I can tell you that last year a few friends of mind pulled in a couple well over 9 lbs on Corn (from a can) and a dough mixture similar to standard bread dough with some garlic powder for scent. Apparently they can put up a hell of a fight, my friend said one that was probably only about 8 lbs snapped his 15 lb line, so have fun out there!

Drove by there on the way up to north simcoe, I seen a ton of bucket fisherman all along the bridge and surrounding area.. Buddy at bait shop also told me that bradford crappie fishing was on fire last weekend, I may give it a try..

Is there a chance that Crappy are still around in the Rivers /Canals ? was thinking of making a 3 hour drive tomorrow morning in hopes of getting a few. Any info if they are around would be appreciated. Don't need locations just if they are around. Thanks dudes and dudettes great board here.

I have been trying to catch a tagged perch but my buddies fished the canal yesterday and yes they caught crappies. I should of went with them because I only caught dinks.

Was on the river yesterday for a good 5 hours.. Nobody catching much. I caught one small crappie, my first ever actually. 1 Rock Bass, a decent 3 1/2 lb largie, lost a two pound bullhead and something else that was substantially large... All on Minnows under a float.
