Thinking of getting up to the perch festival this weekend. Just wondering if its a good time, if the perch are biting yet at the narrows or in the area.

On and off. I had a great day, and two dead days. Not a bite.

I was out yesterday from 9 until 2. Brought home half a dozen. All on plastics. Water was only 40 degrees, so a couple of nice days should bring the water temps up and bring the perch in.

High winds for the first week of the festival made on water fishing difficult.
Land based anglers did better but the cold/wind mix reduced participation down to mainly the die-hard anglers.

Jumbo Perch are coming in more and more every day.

...The weekend’s weather was much better with lighter winds and low teen temperatures.

Lots of families.

Had eight people visiting relatives from Holland register.
Crates Lake Country Boats reported a
British participant fishing from one of their new fishing boats.

Told the story to my wife and she said "so the perch was more than 14 years old." And i had to explain the deal. Pretty funny story though, glad his perch was finally caught!

The restaurant sponsored a tagged perch every year for the past 14 years, this is the first year that their tagged perch (tagged this year) was caught.

Fully understand that, it just makes for a better story the other way.

Sponsors fish caught after 14 years or Sponsors fish caught for first time in 14 years......you get the jist
