Fished the mouth of the Nottawasasga River today from 9:00am until Noon.
No hits, no runs, no errors. Had it all to myself until 11:00am when a couple of others showed up. Open water to fish in and looked real good, but no fish or hungry fish around. There is an ice jam about 500 yards up from where the river flows into the Bay and clear ice free water in that 800yd stretch.
Tried spawn in various colours of netting and even a 'blown" worm, but no action.
The others fishing hadn't had any hits when I left and one of them lives right at the mouth and he told me the fishing has been poor since we had the big rain in early December.
In any event it was a nice warm day to be out with no wind and it beats sitting home thinking about fishing.
