Someone wanted to know about the line 2 launch, so I sent an e-mail to my contact at the Twp.
They concentrated on getting the dock in at the 9th line this week while the dock at the 2nd needs repairs and modifications.
They target to have the dock in at the 2nd for the long weekend.
Remember, to park in the lots at line 2, you need at resident pass or a season pass, STARTING ON MAY 16 AND THROUGH TO AND INCLUDING SEPTEMBER 7TH. I don't think there is a machine for day passes at the 2nd.

The dock at the 9th Line Launch Ramp was being dropped in at 3:15 this afternoon when I checked. Ralph's contact is more accurate than mine! They used a barge and Cat with a scoop to position the deep end section. I asked about the dock at the 2nd Line (Shanty Bay) and they said they would try to complete it to-day as well. The 2nd Line dock looked like it had all new stringers and was positioned near the water as if all was ready to be dropped in. The parking permit signs state clearly that a pass must be displayed from the Saturday of the Victoria Day weekend so the opener would be a freebie. With low water conditions it would be a significant drop from the dock into smaller boats or craft with low freeboard. Apologies for the previous post stating that the docks would not be in place before the long weekend.
