Went out Sunday afternoon and evening with high hopes as this was our last night on the lake. It was windy again and tuff to find a spot out of the wind.
Decided on an area that is tricky to set up on especially in the wind . I dropped the anchor ⚓ in 30ft and let all the rope out,we fetch up on a shelf 10 to 12 ft
with a hump that comes up to 7 ft with about a 10ft circumference.
I get a walleye finally but its small and where laughing about it "12 inches"
Just as its about three feet from the boat a pike comes flying off the bottom and nails my little walleye, trying to figure out my options i yell to get the net and I tried to drag them both into the net .Damn almost got them both but the pike fell out of the net and I watched the pike go back to the bottom so i quickly put the walleye back in and with in seconds the pike slams it again but we had the net ready this time and got them both in the net this time.....dumb pike...
Here's the pic of both and you can see the marks on the walleye...
Both fish released....that was our excitement for the evening with only 1 walleye the rest of the night. We left Marten River at 4:00am this morning and I was in my driveway at 9:00am....
