Hey all

I will be at a friends cottage on the northen end of kashagawigomog this weekend. planning to fish that area and head in to grass lake

Are there any boating hazards up there ?

Here's a good resource for you. Its been a few years since I've fished it, but we used to launch in Head Lake, fish through Grass, and concentrate most of the day in Kash.

http://www.lko.ca/haliburton-highlands/lake-kashagawigamog/

According to this, there are pike in Kash, but I've never seen one from there. We always targeted bass in the summer, with the odd walleye, and strictly muskie in the fall. Here's a PB highlands muskie from Kash in October 2009.

Tight lines!

If things work out - I'll be fishing Kashagawigamog this Sunday for the week at the cottage - with the NEW boat!!!

Last year managed to get two decent walleye (posted here on LSO). The were just at cottage - didn't have to drive around looking for them.

North end of Kashagawigamog there is an under water structure not marked on the standard maps - typically marked by a floating platinum bottle. Can be 6" under water at times.

Let us know how you do with your fishing.

Thanks

Well it was a bust, rain off and on saturday winds were great but couldnt get a bite

Only action was a 8 inch LMB that ate a 4 inch minnow , and tons a pan fish.

I will eventually figure this lake out and be back for more action next year

Drove back from up there today and decided to hit a kawartha lake and we did alright. Bunch of pike and a nice 22.5 wally aswell as a 16'er that had to be released

Thanks for posting your report on Kashagawigamog. I'm finding it to be a tough lake. This is third year here for the soft water - I've caught three musky and a few walleye . . .

Just got to cottage. Drove boat from Head Lake to our dock. On way tried various speeds and both engines. Need to spend time to break them in. The 115 is going to take a little getting used to. Quite amazing - 50 mph - can talk to wife without having to shout.

Having beer now. Will fish from dock later this evening. Seen a few boats out fishing. Tomorrow will troll the shore lines.

Taking the family up for extra long weekend incorporating July 1st, Moms cottage. Will get out few times mainly looking for crappie maybe eyes in evening and might try trolling for lakers. Mom only has pontoon boat so limits ability to fish way I'm used to but will post results.
