Any reccomendations for Tip up use when fishing for Walleye on Nippissing?

When using a minnow should the line be suspended from above with the weight off of the bottom? Or should the weights be sitting on bottom?

Thanks,
Mike

I generally use a couple of splitshot 8-10 inches above the hook. I set the splitshots about 12 inches from the bottom. This way the minnow swims from 2-10 inches off the bottom, which is perfect for catching walleyes. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice Dickie. I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.
