Stayed there many years ago and enjoyed it, but also stayed at Wakami during same vacation and did better there fishing wise.

Standard setups for walleye worked well enough and if you are there for any fly hatch, you can get whitefish on the fly on either water body.np

Went to fushimi 2 summers ago in late august. That summer was very wet there and the skeeters and black flies were out in full force, really bad. We got tons of pictures with us wearing them green mesh hats. The only thing that worked was Watkins repellent, make sure you bring some. We spent a lot of time on the water to keep the bugs away. Better hope for a dry summer lol...

The campsites were not the greatest, some were small, and most of the good sites are taken by seasonal/permanent campers who have trailers. But, we did manage to score a great site for us.

The fishing was great for pike, did not catch any walleye. Did locate the walleye in a couple of areas but could not get them to bite. My youngest son reeled in a 42 " pike weighing in at 13.5 pounds on the first day fishing. Most of the other pike caught were between 1.5-2 pounds. The water is tea stained and I don't seem to have good luck in tea stained water.

Great being up north and having the whole lake/bay to yourself for the most part. Watching the bald eagles on the other side of the lake was also a bonus. Lots of wildlife in area.

Did also go to white lake p.p. the previous year and had much better luck with the walleye and better campsites. I would definitely go back to white lake not fushimi.
