Rice- honey hole always produces!

We should do a tourney on rice!  Canada day looks good for me

I'm planning a twilight weekday rice lake tourney in july.

practise up

Yes... I got to work on not gut hooking them. Two trips out and I have gut hooked 4 bass. Everyone says cut the hook off and they will survive. Tried that and left them in live well with pump on for hours.... All go belly up.

invest in some catch in realese. it's used in tourny's to keep the fish's stress level down in the livewell. which helps the fish keep their weight.

this also helps a wounded fish heel it self.
I have put floating bass and rock bass in the livewell that I hooked to deep and when I put them in they were floating side ways and when I opened it an hour later to see them they were happy as clams.

the bottle is in the scent section in BPS.

Just wondering how does the catch and release help the fish keep thier weight? I wouldn't think they would loose any sitting in the livewell unless they started throwing stuff up.

Anyways I'm just curious, not really looking to buy any since I don't fish tournaments and never gut hook bass they just go back as soon as I catch them unless they are big enough for a pic. Lol

Balsam for big musky! Plenty of walleye and bass to go around as well but with pike forever being a possibility when targeting all species.

I'm with you. What a great lake to fish.

I think Balsam is great to fish. Lots of big fish and lots of variety. The lake is also big enough you can still find a few spots all your own. I almost hit the cycle this spring - walleye, large mouth, small mouth, pike and perch. Was only missing a Muskie for a full set.

Are any of these lakes fishable from shore?

I don't own a boat and renting one for the day is starting to take a toll on my wallet lol.

Also I'm a new from Kitchener and only been to Kawarthas a handful of times.

sorry I just saw this reply now, it helps them to keep their weight by keeping the fish relaxd , as a natural defense when fish are stressed out they get slimy which is them losing their fluids which causes them to lose weight
