Tonight was supposed to the first concert in the park. Wife and I both play in band.

We had babysitter lined up arriving in minutes when the email came that show cancelled due to the rain.

We looked at the radar maps - decided chance of light small showers and off we went. Took the opportunity!

Arrived at Harris - no other trailers in yard. We launch boat and head out. Wind strong from west. A few boats out. We tried the worm harness technique again. Again some hits, some worms lost and nothing in the boat. Wind had picked up - think was pushing us too fast for the worm harnesses . . .

One day soon - likely a few more practice runs - changing speed and weight location and lead . . .

Before dusk we set up at my one productive spot this year. Nothing. I knew that likely one good shower coming - so was about ready to call it a skunk when got fish on! Landed 15.5" walleye. Jig got tangled in net - cut line to remove it - good as forced me to say 'end' for the night.

Arrived back at docks just as rain started. Boat secured to trailer just as started to pour.

Not the best of nights for catching - certainly great bonus night to get out and fish with wife!

Forgot to take picture until had first filet cut.

Walleye ready for the pan.

Depending on how morning goes - if time - will do quick pan fry in butter. Else if rushed, will freeze . . .

Thanks

Yummy !! Try trolling from Harris to Gore's Landing government dock next time with worms and a chartreuse or orange victor spoon with 2 split shot about 18 inches from swivel or knot on the victor.Once you have it dialled in you will know it.

Well done, think I'm going to go to Lake O shortly and give it a whirl.

You do a good job cleaning fish as you do catching them! Very nice looking filets!

I'll give it a try . . .

Tonight may just redo what we did last Friday.

A lot depends on the direction and speed of the winds . . .

How was your Lake O day today?

thanks

Appreciate the feedback on the filets!

It's taken me a lot of practising to get to good filets on walleye / bass / crappie. I now need more practise on pike and other species. Ling and catfish are also a bit different . . .

For the finished filets, my wife removes the Y bones and cuts into appropriate sizes - and checks / removes any bones may have missed . . .

Thanks
