What is your best/worst lure in your tackle box? Everyone has that go to lure when fishing is tough. Everyone has that lure that they avoid like the plague.

My best lure is a countdown Rapala in blue. I have caught so many different types of fish on this lure for whatever reason. A close tie would be a jointed Rapala in either perch/black gold colour.

Although currently I don't feel that I have an awful lure in my tackle box, I will go back to the flying lure when I was a kid. I thought this was going to be magic!

Honourable mentions: Erie Dearie, Worm Harness, and Mepps Spinner.

I have many go to lures but when in the shallows (where I do most of my largemouth fishing) I like to throw out my lunkerfrog. Deep water, rapala husky jerk. and the one I stay away from. My black and orange cut plug, I couldn't catch a cold while fishing in the arctic with that.

Hilarious reference to the flying lure! I bought them as well and I too thought I would be unstoppable. Not sure I ever got anything...... I may still even have a few.

Re the flying lure, my son and I did in fact catch a few large mouth flipping them up to undercut banks on Quinte. All gone now but recall laughing each time we pitched them. True story.

Spinnerbait is my "confidence bait" actually an Excalibur by Pradco (not made anymore) but I have caught so many buckets on snag proof scum frogs that I can imagine not having it

As for worst lure, I bought a spook once after watching Izumi do so well with one... I found out quick that I don't have the patience needed to learn how to "walk the dog" properly!!! I got rid of it.

Will buy any excalibur spinnerbaits if you have them serious though... I will

Best lure? A jig. Caught everything from panfish to Musky on a jig. My all time favorite jig? 1/8 oz ball head with a 3" Gulp! Minnow (Smelt or Firetiger).

Worst lure? I'm not sure I can say for certain. Probably one of the many as seen on TV baits that I ordered in my teen years. Haven't caught anything on Banjo Minnows or Flying Lures...
