For me, the whole nature of the scenario is different. The people pulling up beside you aren't interested in a nice "chat" with some "pops" shared. They just want to fish ahead of you, trying to outfish you. I love talking to people, sharing stories And just being social, but not after they pull up ahead of my drift or beside me. I could care less about maintaining a secret spot (not as if I have any) but rather making sure everyone has breathing room on the water so they have as fair of chance fishing as I do.

Interesting debate though

I ordered one of these beauties in a fluorescent yellow to ensure there was no misunderstanding. I even have a closeness issue at time with my friends fishing. They see I'm catching, so they snuggle up beside me. I wouldn't mind it so much, however, they don't do what I am doing....their loudness and wrong presentation often scare everything away.

Yeah my friends do it on purpose... I bought them for X-max a John Deere hat cause they love to cut grass so we call it. All fun and games when friends do it. I don't mind at all cause what comes around will go around. I will not think twice if they are sitting on a honey hole. I will jump right on their boat and be that close.

Those are the fun fishing trips! Where you can careless about ethics and being nice to friends and everyone just have a blast. We will purposely cast inches from one another to see who gets the fish to bite. Yes it scares the fish away... but sometimes... who cares. We caught thousands of fish in our life time and will catch thousands more.

But random strangers can be annoying. The ones that run into your grass and also the ones that will get upset if you were the one that came close.

If you been on Lake Erie you will see how close everyone is. 50+ boats on the sand/gravel pit within casting distance from one another. On that lake everyone seems not to mind much. The view on some of those bows are worth being close if you know what I mean! LOL Sunglasses a must as you cannot help to look!
