Hi everyone, I'm new to this form.

I've been fishing since I was a kid all the way into my late teens. Than I just went on a skunking streak and decided maybe fishing wasn't as fun as before.

Few years later, I started getting back into salmon and trout (river) fishing. It was the only kind of fishing I did, twice a year (spring and fall).

And now I recently started really taking a interest in every kind of fishing, I'm from the Kitchner waterloo region and so the Kawartha area is like millions of miles away... (so it feels like anyway)

Yesterday was the 3rd time fishing in the area, first was at bobcaygeon for walleye, 2nd was buckhorn for large mouth and yesterday was buckhorn again.

All 3 times, it was a blast.

Anyway, hopefully I can contribute in anyway I can, and hopefully make some friends here.

I was reading some topics earlier and before even asking about hot spots, I just don't want to come off as a lurker lol.

Cheers everyone!

How about starting with a quick report of your most recent trip - the third - with a quick write up - report! If you had a blast - likely interesting to most others?

Don't forget a picture or two . . .

Thanks

Thanks everyone.

So with the the 3 reports of my Kawartha trip. I'll start off with fishing bobcaygeon.

It was my first time being there, we fished at the dam (right near the surf shop)
It was about 10pm wen the 3 of us got there, It started off slow and just catching the small guys not within size, but even catching the small guys can turn out to be a blast. About a few hours later things started to pick up a little bit. I landed 2 within the keepable size, and my buddy 3 keepable and other buddy 2 as well.

We stayed until about 3:30am as we were feeding mostly mosquitoes lol. No pictures of that trip.

First time at buckhorn lake was the weekend of bass opener. That turned out to be a productive day... for small fish ahahah

I was using mostly Cotton Cordell jointed crank bait white in color, and man the small fish were loving it. I couldn't believe it, it was a magnet for the smaller fish, although I did land some nice small mouths and small large mouths with it. Non were in bargain right size or picture worthy, but it was still a fun day. My arm and shoulders were actually tired and sore from that day. We were on the water by 6am and we left at 7pm, the conditions were rain and overcast and cold too. But still fun anyway despite the crap conditions.

And for the 3rd time I was there. It was a good one, slow day for us, but I still boated some nicer ones, 3 lb and a 4 lb and a bunch of 1-2's

My buddy landed a few walleyes but they were only 13"

The bait of the day.. I was using mostly Strike King KVD series 1.5 square bill crank. and 2nd rod I was drop shotting 5" worms, and wacky rigs too.

Pictures here, first one was in the morning (he was just about 3lb) 2nd was in the afternoon (4 lbs on the dot)

Nice fish and great report! Welcome to the board.

I sure miss Bobcaygeon. I can't seem to get my lazy a$$ up that way. Keep posting your reports and maybe I'll get itchy enough to make a run up that way again.

Lol, thanks.

Man for me to get to this area, is like a 3.5 hour drive. Coming from Kitchener Waterloo.

If I lived in that area, I would be there everyday ahah.

Thanks, Hopefully I can get out some more this week or weekend. Its tough wen you don't own a boat, and the only thing you can do is rent one for the day lol.

I want to do some shore fishing, but I just don't know too many good places.

I always have more luck on a boat.
