Never heard of the lake but as an avid fisherman I think you should take it just in case it turns out to be a honey hole. Just change up your techniques and target species if you aren't having much success. Tight lines!!

One of the best bass fishing weeks of my life was on that lake. Huge smallies and largies (and a bonus walleye). Started the week catching them with tubes. Mid-week was suspending jerkbaits. By weeks end it was all top water. I filled a livewell (for pictures) with 5 fish totalling 19 lbs in 30 minutes with my wife and newborn son at the time watching from the dock! You are in for some fun my friend.
