Hello everyone,

Going to be going to balsam tonight, but have never been so Im looking for a preferably free launch on the south end of the lake.

Also if anyone any spots for pike I'll be happy to take a few out

If you're staying at the provincial park they it's free for your use, otherwise it's 10 dollars for the park entry fee and isn't free anymore.

$10 to park and launch is fair. I rather pay $10 to park rather then risking parking somewhere I am not familiar with. That is just MPI. Until I am confident I won't get tagged or towed... I look for paid parking.

I always forget about this lake when doing the voting for a lake to fish the gold bass. I fished it once in a tourney but that's it.

Let me know how u do

Between my brother and I we caught 3 smallmouth and 1 largemouth during the 3 hours we were there and I also lost 1 decent smallmouth close to the boat. All of them were pretty small 1-2 pounds.

I was hoping to get into some pike or maybe a walleye but maybe next time.

We launched at the government dock at Rosedale, as someone suggested before and it was free.

Thanks for the report sorry I didn't see your post earlier I might of been able to help with some areas to try for Pike. The launch at Rosedale isn't to bad except sometimes the parking gets full on weekends and when there is a tournament .

Nahma Lodge - south west end - is a nice spot to launch. Never busy, $5 - and the people are really friendly.
