I previously had the lunkerfrog and had some success but the other day it snapped off so I am in need of a new one, any suggestions on which one to buy and why?

It's almost like you have to take a second mortgage out to buy a frog lure. Ridiculous overpriced. Got a snag proof one last year, not very good.got the same one that you had , and caught bass with it. Over all I'm happy with it , but they get torn up quick.

I don't think you need to spend a lot on a scum frog. In my opinion. I have had the best luck with the old cheap "snag proof" frogs. If you are fishing the slop (where hollow bodied frogs work best) the only thing the bass is seeing is movement on the surface not any of the fancy colour or frills that the expensive ones have. Just make sure your hooks are sharp.

Booyah hollow body frogs are good, they've got a regular version and a mini version, and I think they were only like 7 bucks or something, a lot cheaper than most other frogs.

I'm a live target guy....but only because I am lucky enough to get them for a ridiculous discount. I agree frogs are ridiculously over priced, but so is much of the fishing tackle these days.

I saw some Bass pro brand frogs in a multi pack....they worked out to about 5 a frog.

If I was buying, I would grab the multi pack!

Ended up getting the live target and the lunkerfrog as I like to do a lot of topwater fishing and read great reviews about the two.

i see i'm to late but atleast you did what I was going to say lol.

I fish with live target frogs, they seem to be the best for setting the hooks and also they are weighted so you can really toss them far.

I've been experimenting with different frogs. I like the Booyah hollow body and get good luck.

I have been using some soft plastic frogs with a 5/0 hook fed through. I find these are good through heavy weeds, and give you a long cast. They are also good to cast into the wind when you have a bait caster - fewer backlashes.

If you like fishing the shallows for large mouth, try a white 4" fluke with a 4/0 hook and twitch it through the weeds. I get much better luck with these than with frogs - and you still get the excitement of the big boil when you get a hit.

I love Scum Frog when I fish in lily pad and I found it's more easy for the bass to take the whole thing. When I fish in weed I like to use Big Foot, especially during sunrise and sunset. If in Scugog, Big Foot is a killer during sunset for Muskie!
