Hi everyone,
been lurking the forums for a bit. Usually to get updates on areas that my buddies and I planned to fish earlier this year.
Just wondering if any of you have been to Little Lake in Barrie lately. I've fished it numerous times last year but haven't been up this season.
I already know what to expect. Going up for my father in laws bday as he's an old school angler. The last time I went with him there to Little Lake he hooked the biggest pike I've ever seen within the first 30mins we dropped anchor. Tried to get it into the pontoon but the Bass net that my buddy brought couldn't contain it. My dad did this all with a spoon. The rest of the time I've spent fishing there we've caught bass and more pike. Nothing huge but they are there.
I know the lake is great for kids and beginners. But the pontoon rental prices are affordable compared to going to places like Buckhorn or even Scugog. Don't like throwing down $200+ for a day rental unless the group of guys we have are totally serious about fishing.
I haven't read anything online of the current catches coming out of the lake. Water levels? Weeds.....

Was out a month ago or so and no pike .... Water down about 12-18". Pontoons were sitting in mud at dock ! No idea why..... Maybe new construction on duck worth ramp screwing it up !? Real mess by hwy.... Went back to weeds but could see bass on nests so I left. Tried 10-15 ft hole and nada .... Few sunfish... Post results if u go up!

Hey guys, so was there on Saturday for my fathers bday.
Yes there was an Algae Bloom. The guy at the pontoon rental said that we can't keep any fish and no swimming. We weren't planning on keeping anything let alone swimming.
Lake is low, about 2-3 feet less than last year. Last year it was pretty high, possibly due to the heavy winter we had.
Anyway, a lot of my favorite spots on the lake weren't producing much in the morning. But I blame it on my brother in law and his wife for talking so much.
Come the afternoon I finally caught this little guy.

good report. Sorry about the conditions... Im going to wait for the hard water to head out there this year. A day on the water is better than a day in the office !!! lol
