Hey guys I'm back, Haven't posted much since the winter but I finally figured out Simcoe in the winter and landed my personal best Lakers. I hung up my laker gear for the summer season until I did some research on different techniques. Because I did not have a suitable boat for simcoe or the proper gear I figured I could not target lakers. I waited till yesterday when the weather was nice and went out my first time on simcoe. It was still a little sketch in my 11foot zodiac. At least it has a fibreglass hull. My first time out I fished for 2.5 hours and just as the night ended I land my personal best. I am super thrilled that I can now fish almost all year round for Lake trout.

Nice laker!! I bet it's a lot sketchy out there in a 11ft anything.... lol.. Pick your days well!!!! Cheers fishmagnet!
Oh no doubt, but you use what you have to work with. One day I will upgrade. I have a cottage on Huron and I fish Huron all the time. Just gotta pick my days when I can hit up the big lake. Many days confined in the river but still manage to land some nice fish there too.
