couple of nice cod there, best eating fish hands down,i love going back home and going jiggin...grew up fishing for cod for a living till they shut it dowm.thanks for sharing..

The cod seem to be recovering at long last. The numbers and the size has improved over the last 2-3 years from what I've heard. We caught our limit of 15 o per boat in less than an hour on 1 trip. My bro's FF showed lots of fish.

My father tried to make a living fishing. Tough when cod sells for '2 1/2 cents a pound gutted head off"!!

'Good eats' doesn't begin to describe fresh cod just a few hrs out of the water. Fried to golden brown with just a dusting of flour----hold the lemon and all other 'contaminants'!!! Fresh fried tongues----the ultimate appetizer!

Good photo of the cod in the frying pan!

And the other photos were good.

Great to see a slow and (hopefully) stable recovery.

I vividly remember the day when we (HMCS Saguenay) were on fisheries patrol - with a fisheries officer on board. One afternoon we stopped engines and drifted an area - all the east coasters had a spoon / hook / string set up to fish for cod - soon there were a 'few' on board . . .

That was the late eighties - the start of the decline. At the time - I was amazed that we stopped in the middle of 'no where' and we're able to pull in fish . . .

Again - thanks for the postings!
