Hi guys im really big fun of cooked crayfish and would like to know best spots and times for trapping crayfish in lake simcoe. I read somwhere that best time is April, is it to late for crayfish in August or September? Any advice on crayfish trapping is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

The rusty crayfish is the now plentiful species. They are slow up to early july and then move deeper for cooler water. They are an invasive species from southern U S A,but grow big, plenty of them and taste great

Note that it's illegal to transport live crayfish over land.

I was out on my dock on Couchiching last weekend, and stopped counting when I hit 50. They're not deep either. The water off my dock is knee deep on me, and I'm only 6'1".

This is amazing! Is couchiching connected with simcoe? I might go throw a few taps tomorrow by the Sutton

Looking forward to your posting results!

How do you cook them?

Can you include a few pictures?

What type of traps do you use? Regular minnow?

Thanks
