The fish adds density to water. The water level rises in the tank when the fish is added. This creates water level to rise adding weight to the scale. Almost as if you marked the tank and added 5lbs of water. A 5lb fish floating would bring it right to the exact same line.

Good Read and Congratulations on your finish! CSFL have been dwindling, do not get that many boats entering their events and the pay outs in turn suck big time.

I knew that it would tare and catch the added part. The confusing part to me is that fish carry water weight and I don't know how that's compensated. Either way I'm in favor of it as its less harm to the fish.
