Hello Everyone! I have a question for the guys with a Minn kota on there boat and have maybe done some trouble shooting in the past. I have a 1998 Minn kota 55lb Thrust Power drive that is acting up. When i turn it on the propeller moves an inch, turn it on moves an inch, turn it on moves inch etc. Iv bought a new control pad for it but didn't fix the problem so returned it. Couple days ago i took the propeller off and found some line on it but still didn't fix it. Anyone ever have this problem or know what part needs replacing?

Thanks.

Suggest you give Minnkota a call to their technical team on Monday. They likely will have the answer . . .

One thought - are you sure your battery is good / fully charged?

Let us know how make out.

Thanks

Talked to a Minn Kota representative and he said there could be 1 of 2 problems.

1. There could be water sitting in my lower unit or water has got into my lower unit and caused corrosion or rust on parts.
Solution: Take lower unit completely apart and check for water or water damage and repair parts that are damaged

2. There could be wire connection problem from my batteries all the way up to the power outlet for the minn Kota
Solution: check all wiring from battery to minn kota outlet for damage/repair

No clue when ill be able todo all this but when i do and if i come to a solution let you guys know.

Thanks for posting the follow up!

#2 check should be the first and easiest? Use a volt meter at the outlet and measure 13.2 Volts or not. If good - try moving some wires see if changes.
