For guys that fear the long walk pulling gear.... I can help. Not with the walking... You still have to do that. I can pull your gear out to the area we fish. So you walk with ease.
Note: you still have to walk.
Last year last at certain spots there was full size trucks out. So maybe it will be the same coming.
So will we still have to walk??
Yes you still have to walk!
But it is much more fun walking without having to pull gear in snow. The bunch of walkers can chat it up for 3km to the spot! No holding hands plz!
Walking with or without gear for 3 km can take for some nearly an hour. Then likely a slower hour for way back in. Can cut into the fishing time for a fishing meet / greet - if the greet is 'on land' after the fishing . . .
Another consideration is the parking - lots available at the proposed sites or is it challenging?

I'm good for Simcoe. Actually, I'm good for anywhere within 2.5 hours of Toronto. Finally going to put faces to names. Catching fish might be secondary that day...

If you want to catch WF/LT and have no transportation.... you do what you got to do. You can walk 1km and catch perch if that is what you rather do.
Parking goes with everywhere else. If you roll up to the area around 9 or 10am and expect a parking you will be sorry. Early birds will catch the worms so to speak. *(ya ya second mouse gets the cheese)*
I have been to 2 M&G. I notice there are people that come to put faces on the names. Some will show up to say hi... look for a new spot they have not fished before and you will never hear from them again. I am not expecting 50+ people standing in a circle in the middle of Lake Simcoe fishing and chatting. Their will be groups here and there. Just hoping the groups are not 2km apart.

These were the days had over 100 people a few miles out. everyone found a way out. I have been to 12 M&G over the years. There are a few members who would remember this one.

I know I'd prefer a short walk. But I'm sure if it's further out and seeing the type of people on this board, everyone would help each other to get to where we need to be. The fishing is secondary to me. I am looking forward to meeting others and seeing different set ups and peoples equipment and techniques. Hopefully meet a few new members who I can fish with from time to time and have some fun. Let's all work together to make this happen. Lots of good ideas so far!

Everyone fished where ever and showed up at the designated spot. Fishing was not the prime reason for the M&G. So really not much fishing done. Drilled holes in the area posed an accident waiting to happen, so no fishing at the spot. After the food and distribution of prizes, all cleaned up and left to go fishing. The spot was out of JP on the Lady. It was lots of work for organizers who had to get the bbqs and tables and etc.. out set up the tents for heat and kids. etc. Was all done by the members and not the board of the time. Have fun guys.
