I would LOVE to have at least a couple days of warmer weather to get out on the ice this year.
Last year was horrible with the never ending cold and wind. I have a 6 year old that loves to get out with me but even with the portable hut, heater, skidoo etc. it's not very fun when it's -30 and you're only
70 lbs! I've got some great spots to fish up here,(Parry Sound) but I want him to have a positive experience and not want to go home after 20 min. We got out lots this summer in the boat, maybe we'll get a chance to pull up some big lakers this winter.

Ive got everything i need already. When setup people look at what i got going on and think i must know what im doing and setup close by. It definetly looks that way, but my catch ratio still isnt great. So this year all i really want/need is more fish caught than last year. Still not getting those awesome days i read about. Ive had a few, but not many. Looking to change that this year. Just because ive got all the equipment doesnt mean im not doing something wrong, the trick is figuring out what. Sometimes i feel like a golfer lol, dress the part, top notch clubs, but bogey every hole.
Theres something that im definetly doing wrong, but what. Figuring that out will be my goal.

it varies year to year. I have been up and down like a rollercoaster over the years. First year ice fishing I was into whitefish every time I went out. I thought it wasn't a big deal catching them. Next year went around and I couldn't mark one if my life depended on it. Year after I was on them again. That is why I tune into these report and sort out the ones I can count on the be relievable. I have a general idea where people are fishing from and without asking can figure out where to head out into for next trip around. Last year I got into Lakers a lot.

Yeah I remember the wind last year was not too friendly. 6 out of 7 days a week we were seeing 25km + winds. Was hard to pick out the days to go. I do not mind the cold as that makes ice. Just the wind needs to chill out!

Exactly. The colder the better (after all, we need good, thick and safe ice!). But please, no wind, please;-)

I've got enough equipment now - worked out over past 5 or so years ice fishing. From Argo, to Otter flip, to excellent clothing, to flasher and rods . . .

What I now need is more time to get out with daughter - she will be six this season! And more time with wife and daughter. My Otter flip has room for all 3 of us!

Other need I have is more success on Kashagawigamog! This lake has been a challenge for me through the ice - and I've put in days of time. Other places I've done well (at times) - BOQ and last year Gull.

I'm next at Kashagogwigamog in February for a week. Then March break for a week. Need to catch more than a handful of perch!!!

James, I saw that Clam drill attachment contraption at BassPro in Vaughan last year beginning of ice fishing season. Middle section where they put out all their specials stuff. They might have then again.. I think it was $70-80. But not sure...

Thanks Jerry. I know BPS and SAIL once carried this CLAM adapter last winter. Just not sure if they will again this winter (No, at this moment none of them have it in stock)

SAIL in oshawa 99.99. I see about 10-12 oon shelf
