Caught my first rainbow today! Went for a nice hike into the woods to a local-to-me river. Used my ice fishing rod because it was easier to carry through the woods. Floated a tiny ice fishing jig with a worm fof a while. It was only 5-6 inches long, but it was a beaticful feeling to not get skunked; which has been the usual case for me since late october. Had a whole bunch of hits too! Sorry, no pics.

Can't wait to head to the same spot this weekend. Hopefully there may be some marginally larger fish in there too. Is it too late in the season? It's an extended season until the end of December on this river. Does that mean they expect people to still want to fish it that late in the year?
Either way, nice to be in the woods, and I should have some snow falling on me too this weekend. Nothing more beautiful than snow falling in the forest on a river bank. . .
