Hey northerners, heading up on the 28th. Last year i came up the same time and we were on the ice. Is it worth bringing them this time? Is it starting to form at all on the smaller lakes, im there the 28th-2nd. Thanks in advance everyone.

I dont think you'll see any good ice until middle or end of Jan in that area.
Lakes are all still open in the Whitestone area. Just south of Sundridge. Wouldn't bring ice rods but I would still pack some gear and try to find some brook trout creeks in the area.

I'm still fishing in the area out of the boat at least once a week . Have been using my icerods and flasher for vertical jigging though . Have seen some ice form a few times but it goes again . The 28th ? I doubt it unless we go to -20 for a few days and even then none of lakes of any size will be froze enough . Bring a boat if your going to fish as the bite has been good .
