Thought I would put this up as it may help someone if they have a similar problem.
Mid afternoon on Wednesday, we could no longer connect to the Internet or e-mail.
I called Bell technical support and they thought the problem was on the line and surprisingly they were able to schedule a technician to visit on Christmas Eve. He came late afternoon and checked everything and said no line problems. Hooked his laptop up to my modem and connections made. He figured it was my computer that was the problem.
Called Bell technical support again and he had me trying all sorts of things, but no way could we get my computer to connect to their server. He says he figures it's my computer.
I'm thinking "GREAT" no computer over the holiday and can I find someone to fix it next week. Guess I will start calls first thing Monday morning.
Put my thinking cap on and remembered a few years back I had printer problems and a "techy" told me to UNPLUG the printer for at least an hour or better yet overnight. He said when you plug it in again, it will go through a reset cycle and that might resolve your problem. I did that back then and it worked.
I thought, nothing to lose here, let's unplug. Pulled the plug around 9:30 last night and plugged back in around 9AM today. The fact that I am putting up this post tells you that it worked and the computer is working fine again. One other thing the Bell technical dept. said to do was to delete the "Internet Browsing History" and all "Cookies", which I did. Machine is running much faster now as well.
I know this is not fishing or outdoors related, but I figured it might be a help to someone. My Christmas present to you.

Solid advise with any piece of electronics. Shut down is always better than a reboot also.
This also is your first go-to with your internet modems. Unplug the power from the back of it for at least 10 seconds and oftentimes and get you back online after it's done cycling/coming back online.
Browser history you don't need to clear as it doesn't affect how quickly something loads, or what gets loaded. It's simply a list of links that's maintained so your wife can yell at you when she sees you've been looking at women in bikinis ice fishing.
Cookies.. eh. For those not aware of what these are, cookies are files stored on your computer that save certain pieces of information about you that are used by that site. So maybe a username or an ID. Plenty can be saved in this file that can help track certain things.
The more important files to clear are your Temporary internet files or your "cache". Everytime you visit a website, it stores a local copy of the images they use on their websites on your computer so next time you visit it uses the files on your machine to load the site up quicker. That's a good thing until you let this folder get so bogged down that it starts to do the reverse of what's intended.
