Greetings Fishermen,

I recently decided to pull out of a camp that I have been a member for many years deep in Quebec. I'm looking for advice/info on making Lake Nippising my fishing destination for this year. I have done some searching for cabins and have Deluxe Camp as my #1 decision so far. Since I plan on coming up the last week in July can anyone--hopefully a bunch of you can--shade some insightes on location patterns for this time of year. I'm pretty much a jig man trolling slow till I find them. Anyone stay at Deluxe--spoke to owner and seems like a good guys but he is a businessman too. I have a 16.5 Alumacraft with either a 25hp of 9.9 but don't want to run 15 miles a day--on vacation not a pro tournament. Deluxe is located on the north western end of the lake. I notice several islands -bays etc so it looks like my kind of water. Any help/ideas etc. are greatly appreciated.

David

David, have you looked at Callander Bay? Glen Echo is in the Southern Channel at the bay's mouth, giving you easy access both to Callander Bay and the large Lake Nipissing. Callander Bay's waters are sheltered by an archipelago of islands, so even when Lake Nipissing is too rough, the Bay is usually good to go. The bay is about 4km in diameter and good for pickeral/walleye as well as muskie, pike and such.

Have you considered buying your own camp? There's some island property for sale at smithisland.ca
