The link below is from several years ago but might be helpful.
Visibility is generally pretty low. I believe there are a lot of minerals in Nipissing. Also the shallowness of the lake stirs things up when it is windy. They sure plug my water filters. I find it really bad in the spring when the ice is still on the lake and the water is concentrated.

We’ve brought a camera up a couple of times. We didn’t have much luck with it at all.
For me it’s one less thing to pack.
