ice line,braid,flouro.....?, scratching my head

Ok quick one,my buddy is convinced ice line is best for hardwater I tend to disagree.I've used it last season and found it still freezes up,thinking of staying with good old fashioned mono. Any preference with anyone here,would like to hear what line the majority uses,likes.

Tight Lines

Depends on what you are fishing for. Mono is okay except for the stretch. Still tie on a fluorocarbon leader for hook set and invisibility I still use mono in the winter and have tried Ice lines both have cold weather issues. Braid is a no go with me. Have had it freeze on a spool. So I end up going back to trilene Xl 6/8 lbs with 2/4 fluorocarbon leader. For perch we go down even smaller 2/4 mono 1/2 fluoro. So that is what we do
I also require a flash lite and mag glasses to tie 1/2 lbs fluoro DAM I hate getting old.

Just my 2 cents worth and there will be many more so good luck with your line choice.
When you go to Bass Pro that why they have a wll full of lines.

I've always used some type of ice line, some are better than others.
This year I tried two new ones, Northland Bionic Ice, and P-line Floroice.
The Bionic ice is ok, but I don't really like the feel of it. But, the Floroice is awesome! Its invisible in the water, no stretch, and doesn't freeze.
I'm actually thinking of changing my other rods over to the Floroice.

Thanks for the info on the new braids. I have always had problems with the braids freezing to the reel. I like stren mono 6/8 lb.

Been into flourice ever since it hit the market..........no issues with it at all.

I still take up outfits with braid though as well with a flouro leader.

Thanks for the tip on th UL rods Laongshank. Tested out a new rod to day from all place north carolina 28" long and 5 1/2oz titanium 6 bearing real 6 " perch turned it inside out.

Funny thing is no name on the rod or reel just 6 ball bearings. It is so senitive that 2 perch sneezed on it today and I set the hook. Was slow on Simcoe today we manages 100+ dinks and only keep 19 only 1 over 10".

! week today fishing Nip for those walleye's.

I have never gone that late in the season. I just hope with this warmer than normal weather they will still be on the bite.
