So i was out today fishing...not gonna say where.... but there was a couple with there two kids maybe 5 or 6 years old checking out the ice when i was leaving for the day. anyways i let them know that the ice is not safe that it was anywhere from 2 inches to 4 inches thick. I was spudding my way and a few spots punched threw one wack. but i got my stuff off the lake and guess what the couple did...... walk right on out with there kids...... like what in the @###$$% are you thinking someone that was jsut out on the ice tells you its not safe then you walk right on out .....so anyways too top it off they had toboggans that they were running around pulling there kids on. on the ice i just warned them that wasent safe......people

It would be nice if you could clarify where, just so people on the board know where not to go!!!

You need to be the one out there who frequently checks the ice as you travel.
What guuunder was seeing was at that moment. It does not mean it will be the same in short time. The ice is continually changing. Just ask the folks who parked their cars on the "frozen" ice and returned to see some submerged.
Safety is your number one concern and responsibility. You really should rely on your eyes, your experience to decide how to move forward safely.
